  • Notice For Parents

    All students will receive a free tie and one jumper when they start back to the Academy either Tuesday or Wednesday. There has been a delay in the supply of the PE kit, for this week students can wear their old PE kit or any appropriate active wear, e.g. tracksuit bottoms and a T-shirt.

  • GCSE RESULTS DAY 2017

    Congratulations to all our Year 11 students who collected their GCSE results today.  The Academy is relentlessly committed to raising standards and student aspirations and these outcomes this year show a 13% rise in students achieving a grade 4+ in both Maths and English and a 14% increase on combined. This will help our students to positively pursue their future ambitions.

    Tuesday 5th September - Year 7 only from 10.00am

  • Sixth Form Results Success!

    We are delighted that all of our students have achieved their first choice destination at University or Apprenticeship.  This year’s Post 16 performance shows a significant improvement on last year’s results and a positive, three-year trend in term of both academic and applied qualifications.     

    Whilst we would like to congratulate all of our students on their grades, there are three performances in particular that we would like to highlight due to the hard work and application they demonstrated.

  • TSLA Student Sings For Leeds Rhinos!

    CONGRATULATIONS to one of our talented students, Jamie-Leigh, on delivering an amazing vocal performance prior to the Leeds Rhinos' Easter game at the weekend. 

    Performing in front of a crowd of over 15,000 is an incredible feat and everyone at The South Leeds Academy would like to express pride in this fantastic achievement.

    Polite Reminder to all Parents and Carers

    Please be aware that the Academy is closed to students on Tuesday 3rd January for staff training as outlined in the 2016/2017 calendar on our website.

    The Academy will be open to students from 08:00 on Wednesday 4th January as normal with students expected to be on site punctually at 08:15 in readiness for period one at 08:20.

  • Year 11 Maths and English Evening

    The 3rd November 2016 saw the academy’s first dedicated Maths and English Information Evening, and what a success the evening was. Almost all of our year 11 cohort of students and their parents turned up to the evening to help guarantee their success at TSLA and in the future. It was great to see over 400 people in attendance, and know that our students want to achieve the best they possibly can.

    Our Partnership with Virgin East Coast Trains through Business in the Community has been going from strength to strength since the start of the academic year with various activities taking place, and being planned for the coming year. A particular highlight was Virgin mentors coming into the academy to interview students that had applied to be on our Student Leadership Team.
